Antiques and Crafts. A full array of antiques and crafts shop can be found throughout Orange County, and there is sure to be something to please everyone. You'll find everything from period furnishings and heirloom china and rugs to country quilts and handmade specialties.

 

Art Galleries. An exciting mixture of art awaits you here in Orange--from oil paintings, watercolors, and  sculptures to silkscreens and antique prints. And the artists are on hand to demonstrate their techniques.
Theater.  An exceptional community theater offers plays throughout the year in the town of Barboursville in Orange County. August brings a  special production as the company presents a different Shakespearean play at the historic ruins of Governor Barbour on the grounds of Barboursville vineyard and winery.
Wineries.  Orange is in the center of  Virginia wine country and is proud of several vineyards and award-winning wineries who make their homes here. Many of them feature museums and gift shops.  All offer tours and tastings every day.
Events.  Orange packs in a  full year of events:  the Montpelier Wine Festival and Garden Week in spring,  County Fair and Steam and Gas Party in summer, Montpelier Steeplechase and Festival of Chestnuts in fall, and Holiday festivities in the winter.

Golf. Four courses await the golf enthusiast. Each offers a different venue and level of expertise--from a course with three nines to a new golf community and a resort that offers a lake, stable, and tennis as well. None is more than a short drive.

Horseback Riding.  Trailrides through the woods, horserides through the historic countryside, and riding lessons are but a few of the equestrian activities offered every day here in Orange.  
Hot Air Ballooning. Flights over the beautiful Virginia countryside begin any morning or evening by appointment  from Willow Grove. and end with a champagne celebration. Perfect for an special occasion, the ride can include a film or a framed photo collage by which to remember your special day. 
Skydiving. More than 14,000 freefall parachute jumps are made by novices and experienced skydivers from the Orange airport each year in tandem, alone, or with static line. On most weekends & weekdays by appointment,  highly qualified and devoted instructors teach those with adventurous spirits to make their first skydive. 
Water  Sports. World record bass have been caught in Orange's small fishing lake where rowing is the only boating activity allowed. Nearby Lake Anna invites swimmers, sailboaters, powerboaters, and waterskiiers. Rafts and canoes are at home on the Rapidan River at the Orange County border.

Wineries
Barboursville Winery.  Set on a 900-acre estate, Barboursville produces varietals in the European style with stainless steel tank fermentation and imported oak barrel aging.
